Privacy Policy
What this site does today, and what we collected while we were trading.
These terms are a historical record. They applied while Sciencotonic Edu Pvt Ltd was trading. The company has ceased operations: no orders can be placed, no payments are taken and no kits can be shipped. This page is retained so that anyone who dealt with us while we were operating can see the terms that applied to them.
We still honour data requests. To have your family’s records deleted, write to verify@newtonbox.online and we will confirm once it is done.
What still applies
- The company is closed. There is no account, no order, no newsletter and no support desk, so there is nothing on this website that can collect anything about you.
- Data-deletion requests are still honoured, and they always will be while this site is up. Write to verify@newtonbox.online and we will confirm once it is done.
- Employment verification for former staff runs through the employment verification page, which also carries the company record. That page has no form either — it is an email address and a template.
What this site does today
This is the accurate part, and it is short. The site is a set of plain files on a static host.
- There are no forms. Nothing on any page asks for your name, your email or anything else, and there is nowhere for it to be sent.
- No accounts, no logins, no passwords. The learning platform was shut down with the company.
- The site sets no cookies of its own, stores nothing in your browser, and runs no analytics, no tag manager and no tracking pixels. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
- Two things are still fetched from other companies. The pages on this site currently load a webfont from Google’s font service, and the home page loads video thumbnails from YouTube. That means Google sees your IP address when you open a page here, in the same way it would on most of the web. We receive nothing from either of them, and neither tells us who visited.
- A student video only loads if you click it, and it loads through YouTube’s no-cookie domain rather than the standard one. Nothing plays, and nothing is requested from YouTube’s player, until you ask for it.
- Email is the only way we hear from anyone. If you write to us, we have your email and whatever you chose to put in it — nothing more.

The rest of this page describes what happened while the company was trading. It is kept so that former customers can see what was collected about them and can decide what they want done with it.
What we collected while we were trading
We collected information when someone visited the site, registered an account, placed an order, subscribed to the newsletter, responded to a survey or completed a form:
- Name or username
- Phone number
- Email address
- Mailing and billing address
- Age
- Job title
- Account password (stored in hashed form)
None of this is collected any more. There is no form on this website and no platform behind it.
Optional device permissions
Some features of the app worked better with device access. These were optional, and the Service remained usable if they were declined:
- Location — helped us show content relevant to where a user was.
- Camera and photo gallery — let a student upload a picture directly when submitting a project.
- Contacts — used only if someone chose to invite another family.
Nothing on this site asks for any device permission now. There is no app, and no page here requests your location, your camera, your microphone or your contacts.
Cookies
While the platform was running we used cookies to identify a browser, remember preferences and login state, and gather analytics about how the site was used. This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics.
How we used that information
- To personalise the experience and respond to individual needs
- To improve the website, based on the information and feedback we received
- To improve customer service and respond to support requests
- To process transactions and fulfil orders
- To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature
- To send periodic emails people had opted in to
Every one of those purposes ended when the company stopped trading.
Email and marketing
By submitting an email address, a customer agreed to receive email from us, and every marketing email carried an unsubscribe link. We only ever emailed people who had authorised us to contact them.
We no longer send marketing email of any kind. There is no newsletter, no mailing list in use and nothing to unsubscribe from. The only email we send now is a reply to someone who wrote to us first.
Who we shared it with
While trading, we shared information with third-party service providers who performed functions on our behalf — hosting and server maintenance, database storage, email delivery, payment processing, customer service and order fulfilment. They received only what they needed to perform that service. Aggregated log-file data, including IP addresses, went to analytics providers for reporting. We also said that information could transfer to a successor entity in a merger, asset sale or reorganisation, and that we would disclose information to government or law-enforcement officials where we believed in good faith that it was necessary to respond to legal process, protect the safety of any person, prevent illegal activity or otherwise comply with the law.
None of that sharing happens now. Those services have been closed down. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers or marketing partners, and there is no ongoing transfer to anyone. The obligation to answer a lawful order from a court or a regulator is the one exception, and it applies to any company.
Children’s information
Newton Box was designed for children, and accounts were created and managed by a parent or guardian. We did not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without parental consent.
Student project videos and photographs were published only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. That permission can still be withdrawn at any time. Write to verify@newtonbox.online and we will take the material down and delete the underlying records, without argument and without asking why.
What we still hold, and for how long
The company’s old business records still exist. They are held offline, not on this website, and nobody is working with them. They are kept for two narrow reasons: so that we can answer an employment verification request or a question about a past order, and because Indian company law requires a wound-up company to retain certain books and filings. They are not used for anything else — no marketing, no profiling, no sale, no transfer.
Correspondence sent to the verification address is kept only for as long as it takes to answer it and to keep a note that it was answered, and is then deleted. Where you ask us to delete records about you, we delete what we hold and keep only whatever the law obliges a closed company to retain — and we will tell you plainly if anything falls into that category.
No method of storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. What we can say is that the amount of personal data still in play is small and shrinking, and that this website holds none of it.
Your rights, and how to use them
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or complete it, and ask us to erase it. You can ask on behalf of your child.
- Write to verify@newtonbox.online. That address is also the grievance contact for anything to do with this policy — there is no separate desk and no form to fill in.
- Tell us enough to find you: the name or email address used on the order or the account, and roughly when it was.
- We will confirm in writing once a deletion is done. If we cannot do something you have asked for, we will tell you why.
- If we do not deal with your request properly, the Act lets you complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Links to other sites
This site links to services we do not operate, mainly YouTube and the Internet Archive. This policy does not cover them; please read their own privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
This is intended to be the final version. We will only change it to correct something that has become inaccurate — if, for example, records are destroyed or the site stops loading anything from a third party. It will not be changed to start collecting anything, because there is no longer a company to collect it.
